First, though, I should go and weed my herb bed (just the minute it stops raining).Jodie Robsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02442935205880334932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3721699631305175272.post-7866815577869866182008-06-01T12:31:00.000+01:002008-06-01T12:31:00.000+01:00Your garden sounds wonderful ... and the new littl...Your garden sounds wonderful ... and the new little plant sounds like a very interesting groundcover. I am glad that Nan mentioned that heartsease is johnny jump up over here in the States (heartsease is so much nicer a name). I never knew they were the same plant. I'll look salal up on web. Hope you are well!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3721699631305175272.post-43274530212943965602008-05-29T10:30:00.000+01:002008-05-29T10:30:00.000+01:00I love heartsease, too, and I was delighted when i...I love heartsease, too, and I was delighted when it came up in the newly-sown paddock. Sadly, it may have been mown out of existence by now but, if it has gone, I shall plant little clumps of it and other treasures, with instructions to leave the grass longer there. The priority this year, though, has been to make the whole area manageable.Jodie Robsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02442935205880334932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3721699631305175272.post-64281327051348528892008-05-28T20:31:00.000+01:002008-05-28T20:31:00.000+01:00I do so love the name, heartsease, and it does so,...I do so love the name, heartsease, and it does so, I think. Another name for it over here (US) is Johnny-Jump-Up which is also a heart-easer in a cheerful sort of way.Nanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15547916206007733970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3721699631305175272.post-54192820863259811122008-05-28T10:50:00.000+01:002008-05-28T10:50:00.000+01:00I've edited the post to make it clear that the pla...I've edited the post to make it clear that the plant pictured at the foot is heartsease, I hope it wasn't misleading. I'll find a salal picture when I review the book, which I think might be hard to find here, as it was published in Canada. I thought that it was an entirely Canadian plant, so I was quite surprised to find that it is frequently used by florists.Jodie Robsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02442935205880334932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3721699631305175272.post-76866245123520744692008-05-27T13:52:00.000+01:002008-05-27T13:52:00.000+01:00I have not been around much over the last week or ...I have not been around much over the last week or two so just catching up now. I think it was somewhat unremarkable. Should I look out for the book?mountainearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15977393968796316843noreply@blogger.com
